At CJMA, we believe martial arts should be about far more than simply learning punches and kicks. While students develop genuine martial arts skills through our structured syllabus, they also learn valuable lessons about effort, perseverance, responsibility, and personal growth.
The Cadets programme provides the perfect balance of challenge and encouragement. Students are expected to work hard, stay focused, and take pride in their progress, while being supported every step of the way by experienced instructors and a welcoming training community.
Classes combine striking, movement, coordination drills, partner exercises, pad work, and age-appropriate sparring activities, helping students become fitter, stronger, and more capable while developing confidence in their own abilities. As students progress through the grading system, they learn the value of commitment, consistency, and earning success through effort.
The programme is suitable for complete beginners as well as children with previous martial arts experience. Whether a student is looking to improve confidence, develop athletic ability, make new friends, or simply take on a new challenge, the Cadets programme provides a positive environment in which they can thrive.
As children move towards their teenage years, the ability to deal with challenges, setbacks, and pressure becomes increasingly important. Through martial arts training, students learn to stay calm under pressure, solve problems, work with others, and develop the self-belief needed to tackle challenges both inside and outside the training hall.
Most importantly, they become part of a community that values respect, humility, hard work, and continual improvement. The friendships, confidence, and habits developed through training often remain long after the class itself has finished.
Train hard. Enjoy the process. Build confidence, character and skills for life.
Carl Jackson’s Martial Arts Academy is a proper game changer for kids of all ages. It’s done wonders for my son and daughter their motor skills are sharper, their attitude towards life has levelled up, they’re more responsible, and they’ve picked up solid self-defense skills too. Honestly, top-rated for a reason.
