Our Team

At CJMA, the strength of the club goes far beyond the classes themselves. It’s built on the people who help deliver the experience every single week — supporting, guiding and setting the standard for everyone on the mat.

The CJMA Core Team

Our Core Team of Assistants play a vital role across the club, particularly within our Lion Cubs (4–7 years) and Cadets (8–15 years) programmes.

They are there to:

  • Support the delivery of classes
  • Help new starters feel welcome during trial sessions
  • Reinforce techniques and structure within sessions
  • Maintain the standard and culture of the club
  • Step in to assist or cover classes when needed

For many students, the Core Team are the first example of what consistent training, discipline and positive attitude look like in practice.

They don’t just help run sessions — they help shape the environment.

Project STORM – Young Leaders

STORM (Special Team Of Role Models) is our Young Leaders programme.

These are junior members of the club who have shown strong character, consistency in training, and a willingness to support others.

Within the Lion Cubs classes, they assist by:

  • Helping younger students stay focused and engaged
  • Demonstrating basic movements and drills
  • Encouraging a positive and respectful class environment

STORM members are not just helpers — they are role models in the making.

This programme is designed to build confidence, responsibility and leadership skills that extend far beyond martial arts.

Development & Standards

At CJMA, being part of the team is something that is earned — and maintained.

All Core Team members and Young Leaders take part in regular workshops covering:

  • Coaching and communication skills
  • Leadership development
  • Technical training and progression
  • Class management and student support

This ensures that everyone representing the club continues to grow, improve and lead by example.

Safety & Responsibility

When working with children, standards matter.

All members of the CJMA Core Team:

  • Hold First Aid certification
  • Are Enhanced DBS checked
  • Have completed Safeguarding certification

This ensures that every class is delivered in a safe, professional and supportive environment — something that is non-negotiable at CJMA.

More Than Just Training

The Core Team and Project STORM represent what CJMA is all about:

  • Turning up consistently
  • Supporting others
  • Leading without ego
  • Taking pride in the process

They are a key part of the culture we’re building — one where progress isn’t just measured in skill, but in character.
